Maha to directly recruit sportsmen in government jobs

"A committee would be formed soon under the Chief Secretary for recommending names of the sportsmen for Government or semi-Government jobs," Sports Minister Suresh Shetty said today.

The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting held here enabling the Government to directly recruit the sports persons who are performing well.

Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has already promised to offer class one officers' job to state players who have won medals in the Delhi Commonwealth Games. They were felicitated by the Chief Minister in the evening.
