Taking a swipe at the initiatives to form a Mahagatbandhan against BJP, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday said that the electoral history of the country has shown that grand alliance governments will not last for more than two and a half years. Deb was addressing a BJP rally at Arambagh in West Bengal's Hooghly district.

"Election records have shown that every time such grand alliance formed a government at the Centre, it didn't last for more than two and a half years," said Deb

He also said BJP-led NDA will return to power with more than 300 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Deb, while attacking West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accused her of setting up "syndicate raj" in the state.

"Didi, you were voted to power in Bengal to set up janata raj. But instead, you have set up syndicate raj in Bengal," said Deb.

He also said that in that after the Lok Sabha elections, Banerjee will have to leave the state.

The Tripura Chief Minister also lashed out at the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for the alleged political murders during the last Panchayat elections in Bengal and claimed that after BJP came to power in Tripura no political murder has taken place in the state.
