Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not allowing him to speak in Lok Sabha and said Modi is ''afraid of facing'' the Parliament as he knows, he would be exposed.

''Parliament mein khade hone se darte hain.....mujhe 15 minute ka samay mil jaye bolne ke liye....pradhan mantri khade nahin ho payenge,'' (Modi is afraid of the Parliament...the prime minister will not be able to stand if I get 15 minutes to speak in the house), Rahul, who was on a two-day visit to his Lok Sabha constituency of Amethi, told reporters.

He said that he would be raising cases pertaining to Nirav Modi and the Rafale deal in the House given the chance.

''Pure desh ka chakkar kaat rahen hai par Lok Sabha mein mujhe 15 minute bolne ka time nahin de rahe hain'' (PM has been making a round of the entire country but not giving me an opportunity to speak for 15 minutes in Lok Sabha), he said.

The Congress leader also accused Modi of backing absconding diamond traders Nirav Modi and Mehul Chowksi and said that the prime minister has ''destroyed'' the banking system of the country.

He alleged that there was a scam worth Rs. 45 thousand crores in the Rafale deal. ''It is a straightforward case of theft.....one particular industrialist has been favoured and HAL was not given the contract depriving youths of employment opportunities in Bangalore,'' Rahul said.

The Congress president, who arrived in Amethi on Monday, also addressed a series of small meetings and met a cross-section of the people during his visit.
