Modi failed on many fronts, says Rahul

Last Updated 21 September 2018, 12:12 IST

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated four years in office, Congress president Rahul Gandhi issued him a mock report card, marking him “failed” in the subjects of job creation, agriculture, controlling fuel prices and

foreign policy.

However, Rahul gave Modi ‘A+’ grades in the subjects of “slogan creation” and “self promotion” with a terse remark — “master communicator; struggles with complex issues; short attention span”.

According to Rahul, the prime minister also earned a ‘B-’ grade in yoga.

While the BJP waxed eloquent on the achievements of the Modi government, top Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ashok Gehlot and Randeep Singh Surjewala released a booklet ‘India Betrayed … in four years of BJP’s misrule’.

“The people now know that the Modi-Amit Shah duo is harmful for the country. Four years of the Modi government can be defined in four terms — treachery, trickery, revenge and lies,” Surjewala said.

Surjewala accused the prime minister of spending
Rs 4,600 crore of public money on publicity blitz. “The prime minister is in a perpetual campaign mode, but refuses to address the people’s pain,” he said.

The booklet released by the Congress puts forth 40 questions to the Modi government over a range of issues, covering the four years of the BJP rule.
