KCR invites PM Modi to eat, pray, verify

Last Updated 28 November 2018, 11:13 IST

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment during his Nizamabad public meeting that K Chandrasekhar Rao is superstitious and insecure has upset the Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief.

“Why should Narendra Modi be troubled by my offering puja and believing in rituals? If he has got the time, he can as well come, pray and partake the prasad,” a fuming KCR said at a public meeting.

Responding to Prime Minister’s observation that many villages in Nizamabad have no power supply, KCR shot back: “There is no power problem in Telangana. Don’t lie for the sake votes. You are the Prime Minister of the country.”
Rao, within minutes of PM’s speech in Nizamabad, angrily retaliated in Hindi and English: “I never thought that the PM of the nation will be so ignorant that he would read the script given by the local BJP leaders. If he is not blind, he must verify the truth with his own eyes.”
KCR’s TRS party proudly claims credit for a no-power-cut state, with 24 hours free power even to the farm sector.
Emulate in Varanasi
KCR’s daughter and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha joined her father in tackling the issues raised by the PM on her turf. “Let the PM come on a field visit. At least he will have an earful of what his own party (BJP) MLA Lakshminarayana has done for the town,” Kavitha told the media in Nizamabad.
She said underground drainage work worth Rs 186 crore was going on. Naturally there will be dust and dug up roads. “I wonder if PM is able to do this in his constituency, Varanasi,” she countered. She denied that there is any shortage of drinking water in Nizamabad.
