The family of the twins, who died on Saturday after they fell into a washing machine in Rohini area, has requested the police not to conduct a post-mortem.

The family of Naksh and Neeshu “are devastated and they requested us not to conduct a post-mortem on the bodies of their children”, a police officer said.

“We have accepted their request. Since no foul play is suspected and the family has also given in writing that they don’t suspect anything, the autopsy hasn’t been carried out,” the police officer said.

He said that a pile of clothes was lying till the level of the washing machine and one of the twins probably peeped inside and fell in. The other brother probably did the same out of curiosity and fell inside the machine, he added.

When the mother returned, she didn’t find her children and started searching everywhere and even made a call to the police control room, the officer  said.

She also informed her neighbours and they checked the footage from the CCTV cameras installed in the housing society, but they didn’t see anyone entering the house while she had gone out to get some detergent, he added.

The woman, meanwhile, called her husband, who arrived some time later, he said. After they didn’t see anything suspicious, the couple started searching their home and the husband found the children inside the washing machine, he added.
