The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested one more youth, Muhammed Faizal Hameed Kunju, 25, a resident of Karunagapally in Kollam, while probing the IS links in Kerala.

The NIA had earlier arraigned him as an accused in the case pertaining to youths from Kerala joining IS. Muhammed, who was serving in Qatar, was found to be spreading messages instigating terror strikes and also pro-IS messages, said sources.

Muhammed was served a notice to appear for interrogation. Services of Indian mission officials in Qatar were also learnt to be used for bringing him down. Muhammed who reached the Nedumbassery airport in Kochi from Qatar was arrested and quizzed by NIA officials.

A top team of NIA was also quizzing Riyas Aboobacker, the Palakkad native who was held by NIA for IS links recently.

Two youths hailing from Kasargod were also arraigned by the NIA recently in the case related to IS links. Several youths from Kerala who reportedly crossed the borders earlier to join the IS were said to be instigating more youths from Kerala to join the terror outfit, and even prompting them to carry out terror strikes in religious places in Kerala.
