Cong manifesto vows Rs 3,500 per month for jobless

Congress promised to waive farm loans, pay pension to farmers and exempt farming equipment from GST. Party chief Rahul Gandhi has already promised farm loan waiver within 10 days of coming to power in the state.

To counter the Rs 5,000 allowance promised by ruling BJP in its manifesto, unemployed youth will get a monthly allowance of Rs 3,500.

The manifesto, titled Jan Ghoshna Patra, also promised free education and travel for women and students who come to the state for examinations. University curriculum will be reviewed and aligned with corporate and industrial needs, the manifesto said.
