Hry AAP to give 'Ganga jal' to CM, other ministers

The Haryana unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) plans to offer 'Ganga jal' to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other ministers, saying this will remind them of "unfulfilled" poll promises.

While accusing the BJP of having "failed in honouring" the promises mentioned in its manifesto, Haryana AAP unit chief Naveen Jaihind attacked other opposition parties Congress and INLD for "trying to disturb brotherhood in the state".

Besides, the AAP would also distribute 'Ganga jal' (water from the river Ganga) among leaders and MLAs of the Congress and the INLD so that they "get wisdom" and start working for the welfare of the state, the AAP leader said.

As part of its 'Bhaichara Kanwar yatra', AAP workers have brought 'Gang jal' from Haridwar which will be distributed among all the MLAs and MPs in the state, he said.

"The main motive behind giving Ganga jal is to remind the ruling party about its poll promises which have not been implemented yet," said Jaihind, the party's chief ministerial candidate for next year state assembly polls.

"The Haryana CM should now work on implementing those promises," he said, adding that the BJP had made several promises such as eradication of unemployment, maintenance of law and order etc, in the run-up to the state Assembly elections.

He said 'Ganga jal' will also be offered to Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu, Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, Agriculture Minister O P Dankar, and Health Minister Anil Vij.

The AAP leader accused all the state ministers of doing "nothing" in their ministries.

He also blamed leaders of the Congress and the INLD of trying to "disturb brotherhood" in the state, adding that the AAP wants that the brotherhood is maintained in the state.

Jaihind said the party would also give the holy water to Jat leader Yashpal Malik and BJP MP from Kurukshetra, Raj Kumar Saini.

"We will request them to spare brotherhood in the state," he said.

To a question on Punjab AAP leader Sukhpal Khaira's demand for giving autonomy to the unit, Jaihind said the state unit in Haryana had been given free hand.

"We have been given everything (by the party). We are free to do anything and we are doing our work for the welfare of people," he said.
