<p>The actress assault case of Kerala saw a fresh twist with the relatives of a mobile phone technician who died in a road accident two years ago raising suspicions over the death citing that the deceased person serviced actor Dileep's mobile phone.</p>.<p>Relatives of mobile phone technician Saleesh, who died in a road accident on August 30, 2020, in Ernakulam district, have demanded a reinvestigation into the incident that was already closed by the police as a road accident case.</p>.<p>The relatives raised the suspicion in the wake of the fresh allegations that Dileep was trying to destroy crucial evidence pertaining to his involvement in the actress assault case and conspiracy to murder investigation officers of the actress assault case.</p>.<p>Saleesh's brother Sivadas filed a petition to the Angamaly DySP seeking a reinvestigation. Saleesh was working at a mobile phone service centre and Dileep's phone was given for service there, the family said. </p>.<p>Police sources said that the petition might be transferred to the Crime Branch team investigating the case pertaining to a conspiracy by Dileep to murder the investigation officers.</p>.<p>Saleesh died after the car he was driving rammed into a divider at Angamaly in the suburbs of Kochi. Police's assumption was that drowsiness could have led to the accident. Opposing the anticipatory bail, the prosecution said that the accused were tampering with the evidence and even one mobile phone used by Dileep earlier was not yet produced. Hearing in the anticipatory bail pleas will continue on Tuesday.</p>.<p>A gang allegedly engaged by Dileep abducted and sexually assaulted the popular actress in February 2017 in Kochi. Dileep was arraigned as the eighth accused in the case and was arrested in July 2017.
