TTD unveils publication on coins

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has brought out a series of publications to spread awareness among devotees, students and researchers on the rich heritage of coins donated by pilgrims across centuries.

Pertinent to numismatics, detailed historical backgrounds have been listed, along with the value of gold, silver, copper and other panchaloha coins, donated by pilgrims and yesteryear kings, chieftains and emperors, including British and Muslim devotees of Lord Venkateswara.

The publications has been presented in a world-class manner using latest printing technology. 

They feature 1,213 gold coins dating from the Roman period, foreign coins and those of Indian kings, including emperors, British and Muslim rulers. Another publication comprises a detailed history of 1,382 coins made of silver, copper and other metals.

The publications are available at all TTD outlets across the country.
