At least 90 stray dogs found killed in Maharashtra

In a shocking incident, around 90 dogs were found in a stretch of road in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra.

Ten-odd dogs were found alive but their condition is bad.

The carcasses of dogs were found on the Girda-Savaldabara Road along a forested area.

The nearby villagers had been complaining of foul stench - and they approached the local police and forest officials.

A case under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered on Sunday evening.

Local authorities that the legs of the dogs were tied and they were muzzled.

It is suspected that the dogs could have been caught form the city area and left to die in the forest.
