Twenty-two-year old Surendra Pasi, a resident of Bahmalpur in Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad district which is about 200 kilometre from Lucknow, had bought a brand new jeans for Rs 700 on Wednesday.

Surendra had no inkling that his new jeans would turn fatal for him.

He was hacked to death by his own elder brother reportedly after he refused to allow the latter to put it on and go out.

According to police sources in Lucknow, the incident occurred on Thursday.

Police said that Surendra's elder brother Rajendra asked the former to let him wear the new jeans for a few hours as he was going out to meet a friend of his.

Surendra, however, refused. The two had a heated argument but Surendra did not accede to the demand.

Furious over the refusal, Rajendra reportedly attacked his younger brother with a knife and stabbed him several times, the police said.

Immediately Rajendra fled. Surendra, who sustained serious injuries in the chest and stomach, was rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead.

A case was later lodged with the police by the boys' father Phool Chandra.

Police said that a hunt had been launched to nab the culprit. According to the police sources, Rajendra had a criminal bent of mind and had earlier been arrested in several cases, including those of theft and loot.
