Not meeting Ramesh Jarkiholi: BSY

Last Updated 26 December 2018, 10:44 IST

State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa clarified that he was visiting Belagavi to discuss preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and not to meet former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi.

"Disgruntled legislators of Congress and JD(S) are engaged in infighting for not getting important positions. We have not contacted them, and we are not at all worried about them. We are just observing the situation," he told media persons at Hubballi Airport on Wednesday.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should not have used 'shootout' word in the issue of murder of a JD(S) leader at Maddur, It can provoke goondaism, or police may also misuse their power, Yeddyurappa said.

Though the government is claiming that farmers' loans are waived off, banks are issuing notices to farmers to repay loans. Kumaraswamy has given false assurances and is creating confusion among farmers. He has not yet tendered an apology for his statement about farm woman, he charged.

Proper drought relief works and their review are also not taking place, Yeddyurappa added.

Former MLAs Ashok Katwe, S I Chikkanagoudar, and others were present.
