All-round Gowtham spurs Swastic Union CC to victory

A fine all-round show from Gowtham K helped Swastic Union Cricket Club garner three points from their drawn game against Malleswaram Gymkhana in the KSCA Group I, Division I league tournament for the Sir Mirza Ismail Shield.

Swastic Union, who batted first, posted a decent 364 all out in 64 overs. Gowtham top-scored with a quick-fire 134 that came off just 94 balls, in an innings studded with 10 fours and nine sixes. Arshdeep Singh Brar was the other major contributor as he scored a well made 125 off 130 balls.

Mohammed Sadiq claimed five for 128 for Gymkhana.

Gowtham and Arshdeep continued to impress with ball as well as they stifled Malleswaram to 310 for nine, with figures of five for 127 and three for 25 respectively.

Liyan Khan made a patient 131 from 208 balls.
