Ashwin, Jadeja rested for Eng T20Is
India have decided to rest their key spinners — Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja for the three-match Twenty20 series against England which begins in Kanpur from January 26. They will be replaced by leg-spinner Amit Mishra and off-spinning all-rounder from Jammu and Kashmir, Parvez Rasool.

”India senior selection committee in consultation with team India management has decided to rest spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja from the Paytm T20I series against England,”the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed in a statement on Monday.

Mishra, 34, was also the part of Test and ODI squads against England. In the two Tests he played, he picked up five wickets but didn't get a chance in the playing XI in the ODI series. However, in the last ODI home series against New Zealand, Mishra had a successful run and ended up as the highest wicket-taker (15 wickets).

Incidentally, in that series also he was among the replacements for Ashwin and Jadeja. In the Twenty20 internationals, Mishra has taken 14 wickets in eight matches at an economy rate of 6.40. Rasool, who fills in the role of an all-rounder with his batting prowess down the order, has played just one international game which was an ODI match against Bangladesh in Dhaka in June, 2014. Ahead of the limited-overs series, Rasool has had a fruitful outing against England while representing India ‘A’ in the warm-up game, where he claimed 3/38. In the 37 T20s, he has taken 27 wickets at the economy rate of 6.88 and an average of 34.44 besides scoring 478 runs.
