<p> The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has revised the scheme of Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar, introduced in 2009.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The purpose of the 2009 scheme was to encourage and promote involvement of corporates, sports promotion boards etc., in the promotion and development of sports.<br /><br />In the revised scheme, the award will be given in following four categories: Identification and nurturing of budding/ young talent, encouragement of sports through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), employment of sportspersons and sports welfare measures and sports for development.<br />SAI cadre restructured<br /><br />Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has asked Sports Secretary Ajit Saran to expedite restructuring of Sports Authority of India (SAI) cadre to streamline the functioning of the body.<br /><br />Sonowal took serious view of the fact that SAI is languishing due to non-availability of officers and coaches to man it's more than 80 SAI centres spread all over India including North Eastern Region and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a release stated on Wednesday.<br /><br />The Sports Minister asked Saran, who is holding the charge of SAI Director General, to hold atleast 9 Regional Centres and to effectively manage the SAI Centres especially in North Eastern Region and bigger states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh etc.</p>
