Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly welcomed the newly crowned 2025 Women's World Cup champions to his official residence at Lok Kalyan Marg on Wednesday (November 5). He conversed with the 'Sheroes' in an extensive, two-hour-long interaction, talking about victory and praising their remarkable comeback in the tournament.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the victorious Indian women's cricket team at his official residence on November 5, 2025.

At the meeting, he specifically cited Harmanpreet & co's "remarkable resilience" in changing their fortunes after the early challenge of three consecutive defeats in the tournament.

Recalling the 2017 meeting, Captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed hope that winning the World Cup would lead to more frequent visits with the PM. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana also said that PM Modi’s encouragement was a massive source of inspiration for the team.

The World Cup-winning team also presented PM Modi a special jersey, signed by all the players. The jersey featured the name 'NAMO No. 1'.

PM Narendra Modi praised the new world champions and interacted with them for around two hours.
