Vinod Kambli ready to accept '83 World Cup heroes' offer, says health condition is bad

'I have no hesitation (to go to rehab), because until I have my family with me, I'm not afraid of anything,' Vinod Kambli said.

Vinod Kambli, recently recently made headlines after the a video of him clinging to Sachin Tendulkar went viral on social media, raising concerns about his health, has said that he is ready to accept the offer made by the 1983 World Cup heroes to help him pay for his rehab, revealing that his health condition is very poor.

Members of the 1983 World-Cup winning team had said they are willing to help Kambli, but he must want to help himself first.

Kambli has come out openly accepting the offer, stating that "I have no hesitation (to go to rehab), because until I have my family with me, I'm not afraid of anything, anybody. I'll complete it and return. I will come back," during a chat with Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel.

Speaking on his poor health, Kambli said, "I'm better now. My wife takes care of me a lot. She took me to 3 different hospitals and told me 'You've to get fit'. Ajay Jadeja also came to visit me. It felt nice. I was suffering from a urine problem. It was just flowing. My son, Jesus Cristiano, picked me up and brought me back to my feet. My daughter, who is 10 years old, and my wife came to help me. This happened one month ago. My head started spinning; I collapsed and fell down. The doctor told me to get admitted."

Kambli had previously stated that his only source of income of his BCCI pension as a retired cricketer.

In 2012, he underwent an angioplasty to treat blocked arteries. His alcohol addiction has led him to multiple stints in rehabilitation, significantly affecting his overall health and well-being.

Kambli boasts an impressive cricketing career, having represented India in 104 ODIs and 17 Tests, where he amassed 2,477 and 1,084 runs, respectively. Notably, during his school days, he forged an iconic unbroken partnership of 664 runs with Tendulkar.
