Kerala, TN in last four

Kerala and Tamil Nadu progressed to the men’s and women’s semifinals of the 61st Senior National volleyball championships here on Sunday.

In the men’s quarterfinals, Kerala put it past Services 25-14, 25-20, 25-21 while Tamil Nadu breezed to a 25-16, 25-20, 25-14 victory over Rajasthan.  Kerala women had it easy against Haryana defeating them 25-19, 25-18, 25-12 in the last eight match and Tamil Nadu beat Uttar Pradesh 25-11, 25-18, 25-23.

In other men’s quarterfinals, Uttarakhand beat Railways 25-27, 18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-11 while Haryana defeated Punjab 25-21, 25-23, 25-22. Railways eases past West Bengal in the women’s quarters and Andhra Pradesh got the better of Himachal Pradesh 25-21, 25-22, 25-9. Tamil Nadu will face Uttarakhand and Kerala will lock horns with Haryana in the men’s semifinals on Monday. In the women’s last four matches, Railways will play Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu go up against Kerala.
