BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa has convened a meeting of party leaders, including MPs and MLAs, on Wednesday to discuss preparations to be made for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Yeddyurappa, who on Saturday resigned as the chief minister due to lack of majority in the Assembly, told reporters that he will shortly start touring the state to organise the party to face the crucial Lok Sabha polls. He said that he has set a target to win all 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Yeddyurappa’s move is seen as an effort by him to consolidate his position in the party.

The BJP leader on Sunday held a series of meetings with the party leaders and his supports at his Dollars’ Colony residence. Sources said he will soon meet party president Amit Shah in Delhi and apprise him about the political situation in the state.
