Chief Electoral Officer Sanjiv Kumar said on Saturday that the model code of conduct for the bypolls to two Assembly segments and three Lok Sabha seats would come into force with immediate effect.
Addressing reporters here, Kumar said the government was disallowed to effect transfers or announce any new programmes during the election period.
“The first draft of the voters’ list for the Lok sabha constituencies will be published on November 10 and people are allowed to file objections till November 20. The final list will be published on January 4,” Kumar said.
