Cong to launch door-to-door campaign against BJP

The Congress will launch a door-to-door drive ahead of the Lok Sabha polls to counter “disinformation conspiracy” of the BJP against the party, newly appointed Congress campaign committee chairman H K Patil said on Friday.

Speaking after formally taking charge of the post in Bengaluru, Patil said he will strive to ensure that the “truth” on the contribution of the Congress to the country since independence reaches the people. The sacrifices made by the leaders of the Congress to the nation will also be highlighted.

He sought to know the achievements made during various BJP regimes. “Has the lifestyle of the people improved? How many jobs have been created during the Narendra Modi regime ? He said the country had to pass through difficult times during the last five years. The BJP is only interested in power and publicity,” he charged.

It was a show of strength by the party with senior leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, K C Venugopal, Siddaramaiah and Dinesh Gundu Rao, present at the event.
