Congress’ 'Man Friday' and troubleshooter, D K Shivakumar has done it yet again! By ensuring his party candidate, V S Ugrappa’s victory in Bellary Lok Sabha constituency, Shivakumar has created a history of sorts in the mine-rich district.
Speaking to reporters in Bellary, Shivakumar thanked his party chief Rahul Gandhi and the state leaders for having reposed faith in him and accepting to work for the candidate he had chosen.

Shivakumar thanked BJP leader B Sriramulu for ensuring peaceful polls in the district. "I thank Sriramulu anna for making sure that there were no untoward incidents in during the elections," said Shivakumar.
He also said that Ugrapps’s victory brought with a big responsibility for the party. “Ugrappa will be Congress’ voice in the Parliament. The Congress has sought votes from the electorate for the next five years. We will now focus on the development of Bellary district. The party will ensure that we will not break the trust of the voters," he added.
Sriramulu has said that he will bear the responsibility for his sister J Shantha's defeat.
