Deve Gowda celebrates b'day with partymen

Former prime minister and MP H D Deve Gowda on Wednesday, performed special pooja and homas at Ahobala Mutt in Melukote in the district , on his 79th birthday celebrations.
Later, he cut the cake and celebrated his birthday with party workers. The special pooja was held from 8 am to 12 noon. More than 20 priests did parayana. Gowda accompanied by his wife Channamma and sons, H D Revanna and H D Balakrishna also participated in the pooja.

Talking to newspersons here, Gowda said he has a firm belief in god so he visits temples. Since Ahobala Mutt is a historic place he came here to celebrate his birthday. Refusing to talk politics, he called upon the youths to plunge into politics to cleanse the current political system.

“I entered politics when I was 22. The present political system cannot be reformed if the youths hesitate to enter politics. I will continue  with my fight against the system within the limits”, he added.
