'Kadur TMC supplies polluted water'

The water which was supplied on Tuesday to Maruthi Vilas, K M Road, Thyagaraja Nagara, Ashwathanagara, D V G Road by the TMC is polluted. “Though we had compalined to the TMC office, Health officer, they have failed to take action to set right the problem. We had even informed the Deputy Commissioner. However, he has failed to respond to our woes. The residents of five wards have decided to stage a protest against the TMC and the Deputy Commissioner,” the residents said.

The drains in the Kadur are filled with waste. As several pipelines pass through the drains, there are possibility of drain water entering the pipeline if there is a slight damage to the pipes. The TMC will be held responsible if the residents get any disease after drinking the water, the residents added.

They said the TMC had been supplying water once in five days during the summer. Whether the TMC does not have any concern towards its citzens? The public are forced to depend on water supplied by private persons through tankers. We will intensify our protest if the situation continues,” they warned.
