Last Updated 16 December 2018, 19:16 IST

District BJP leaders and Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers accused the Kerala government of conspiring to spoil the sanctity of Sabarimala shrine.

Addressing protesters, BJP district unit president B B Bharatish said the Kerala government is extending full support to the women activists who have been attempting to enter Sabarimala temple, against tradition. The move by the Kerala government is totally anti-Hindu, he added.

Warning of a protest in Kerala, he said that Ayyappa devotees from Kodagu will visit the shrine to support the real devotees in Kerala.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad district secretary D Narasimha said that the Supreme Court should reconsider its verdict on the entry of women of all ages into Sabarimala.

BJP leaders Umesh Subramani, Mahesh Jaini, Ballaranda Mani Uttappa, P D Ponnappa, Jagadish, K S Ramesh and Robin Devaiah took part in the protest.
