Palimaru Mutt gets junior seer

The “pattabhisheka” or installation ceremony of the junior seer of Palimaru Mutt was held at the ‘Sarvajna Peetha’ of Krishna Mutt on Sunday afternoon.

He is the 31st seer and will be known as Vidya Rajeshwara Theertha.

The ‘sanyasashrama sweekar’ (initiation to monastic order) of 20-year-old Shailesh Upadhyaya, whom Vidyadheesha Theertha Swami of the Paryaya Palimaru Mutt had chosen as his successor, was held on May 10. Various rituals were held, including Vayusthuti Purascharana homa, at the Krishna Mutt on Saturday.

The senior seer Vidyadheesha Theertha, sitting on the Sarvajna Peetha, announced that Vidya Rajeshwara Theertha will be his successor.
