DKS wants probe into Shetty’s death

Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar on Saturday sought a probe into IPS officer K Madhukar Shetty’s death.

"I knew him closely and was shocked to learn of his demise. There’s a need to probe the background of this...whether his death was natural or not,” Shivakumar told reporters. "He was a well-respected officer. I knew his father also. He was an asset to the police department."

In response, Home Minister M B Patil told reporters that he needed full details from the state police chief before commenting.
