The residents of Om Nagar staged a protest by blocking Sedam road, for around an hour on Friday morning; demanding proper drinking water supply.
The traffic on the busy Sedam Road, part of Waghadhari-Ripponpalli National Highway, was affected following the protest. Police intervened and re-directed the traffic to alternative routes.
The protesters also drew the attention of the city's administration to the poor infrastructure in the area, specifically the underground drainage system.
They refused to withdraw the protest till the arrival of Kalaburagi Mahanagara Palike commissioner.
M B Nagar police told DH that Palike commissioner Raghunandan Murthy visited the spot and assured to solve the residents'problems. Then, the protesters withdrew the protest.
