Murthy was arrested on 10 October, 2008 at Kundanur near Kochi in Kerala for the alleged murder of his friend, Kumar. His attempt to obtain bail had been rejected by the lower court eon June 16. Justice Subhash B Adi, who heard the matter rejected the bail plea on Thursday.
Murthy along with his friends had invited Kumar and his friend Shankar Reddy to his resort L G Rose heritage at Hosure Bande near Bagalur in Bangalore North District on 7 October, 2008 and had allegedly shot him in an inebriated state.
Following a complaint by Shankar Reddy, the Bagalur Police had arrested him.
