Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Women’s Wing President Laxmi Hebbalkar dared and demanded that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader and Member of Parliament Shobha Karandlaje should speak against the two incidents of rape at Kathua and Unnao with her party legislator also being accused and condemn the incidents of atrocities against women.

Hebbalkar speaking to reporters here on Tuesday condemned the incident of rape and murder of eight-year-old girl at Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir and of 17-year-old girl at Unnao in Uttar Pradesh. “BJP is in power in both the states. BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been named as accused in the Unnao case.”

Karandlaje who during other times speaks a lot should now come forward and talk about the two incidents of rape and condemn them. Its right time that she raises her voice for women’s cause, she said.
