Inmates attack staff at D-K dist prison

Wardens and the jail superintendent at the district prison in Mangaluru were injured in an attack by a few jail inmates on Tuesday.

Wardens Muthappa, Ramesh G and Superintendent Paramesh were attacked while they were conducting an enquiry of inmates, said DCP (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya.

Jalal and a few other inmates of Cell 1 of A block reportedly rushed out of their cell and damaged CCTV cameras and lights. A case has been registered and the investigation is on.
