He was speaking after distributing the cheques of Rs 10,000 each to 50 women belonging to minority community under Shrama Shakti scheme of BCM Department at Inspection Bungalow in the town on Saturday.
The amount is being provided for the production of incense sticks, mat, purchase of sewing machine and others by these women in order to improve the economic conditions.
Low interest rate
Explaining the benefits of availing the loan from BCM, Amaresh said that banks levelled high interest rate on the loans taken for setting up cottage industry while BCM charged a modest interest of 4 per cent and also gave a subsidy of 25 per cent.
Taluk Block Congress President G Ramalinga Reddy, Town Block President Shabaz Khan, Taluk Panchayat member Rajendra Gowda, Bhoopathi Reddy, Tavarekere Narayana Reddy, Kurudumale Chotisahab and others were present.
