Flood-lit volleyball tourney on Jan 6

Kadagadalu Corner Freinds will conduct the 4th annual flood-lit volleyball tournament at Kadagadalu primary school ground on January 6.

Addressing reporters here on Wednesday, Kadagadalu Corner Freinds president Dinu Somanna said that the tourney will be inaugurated at 10.30 am. Eight teams will compete against each other at the district level. The state-level matches will be held at 5.30 pm. Interested teams may enrol before January 5, along with an entry fee of Rs 1,200 per team.

The first prize will comprise of Rs 20,000 cash along with a trophy, second prize winners will take home Rs 14,000 cash along with a trophy, third prize will comprise of Rs 4,000 along with a trophy, he said and added that these apart, there will be prizes for best lifter, best server and all-rounder. Race, volleyball match and kabaddi match will be held for rural children on the same day. Children will also take part in cultural programmes. Students securing highest marks in the seventh and tenth standard will be awarded cash prizes.
