Flood victims get aid from Marenahalli GP

A team from Marenahalli Gram Panchayat in Bytarayapura Assembly constituency in Bengaluru has extended financial assistance to 20 families affected by floods and landslides, in Madikeri on Sunday.

The team arrived in Kodagu on Sunday and visited Makkandooru, Meghathalu, Hebbattageri, Devasthooru, Udayagiri, Madapura and other areas affected by natural calamity. They later handed over the financial assistance to the families.

Marenahalli Gram Panchayat president Puttu Anjanappa said, “Hundreds of families have lost their belongings during the massive flood and landslides, which caused massive destruction in Kodagu district. We could not respond to the victims immediately. We have raised Rs 2 lakh from 10 villages coming under the gram panchayat. Accordingly, each family is given a sum of Rs 10,000.”
