State-level T-20 cricket tourney inaugurated

He was speaking after inaugurating the State-level T-20 cricket tournament in the city on Sunday. The tournament has been organised by Sir M V Youth Sports Club at the CVV Campus. The city is hosting many cricket tournaments in this regard. The government should consider it to grant a sports village to the city.

A sports auditorium on par with the international standards is the need of the hour, since the city hosts a number of educational institutions, said Vijaypur Block Congress president V Manjunath. On the occasion, sports club president Jayaprakash was felicitated.
As many as 16 teams are participating in the tourney. The first match was held between Kolar and Bangalore.

City Municipal Council member C M Chikkappaiah, KPTCL Employees Association secretary Nagaraj and others were present.
