Shimoga MP B Y Raghavendra, son of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, on Monday said Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) would be built on the ideology and philosophy of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

“My father and I have been trained by RSS, which has taught us to work for the upliftment of Dalits and the downtrodden. As we entered public life through the RSS, there is no question of sacrificing its ideology.

The new party will be built on the Sangh’s ideology and philosophy. It is wrong to dub the Sangh as an enemy of a particular community,” Raghavendra told reporters after inspecting the ongoing preparations for the KJP’s rally to be held here on December 9.

Reacting to the reported statements of former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy that KJP would be a party of “father and sons,” Raghavendra said the new party will be a “party of workers” and, its critics would come to know of it very soon.

BJP legislators Nehru Olekar and Shivaraj Sajjan have been entrusted with the responsibility of making arrangements for the Haveri rally.
