KSOU to begin admissions for BEd, MBA in Jan

The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice Chancellor, D Shivalingaiah, said that the KSOU will start admissions for BEd and MBA courses for the academic year 2018-19 in January 2019.

In a press conference at the KSOU on Thursday, the VC said, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has accorded recognition for BEd and MBA and the admission will commence in January.

In view of shortage of time for the admission process for 31 courses which were recognised earlier, the varsity will give an opportunity for students to get admission for five courses, MA (Urdu), MSc (Bio-Technology), MSc (Bio-Chemistry), MSc (Information Science) and Master in Library Science (MLibISc). Admissions will be given to these courses since than 20 students had obtained admission for them. The admission will be done in January, along with admissions for BEd and MBA courses.

The Academic Council and the Board of Management have approved programmes such as BSc (PCM), BSc (CBZ), BSc (PMC), BSW, BBA, BCA, MA (Education), MSW. The varsity has also submitted a proposal to the government for the creation of posts as per the rules of the UGC. A proposal will be sent to the UGC seeking permission for commencing the above programmes from July-2019, the VC said.

The VC said students can apply online for admission from January 2019. Students can pay the fees through SBI net-banking and other banks’ internet banking platforms, State Bank ATM-cum-debit card, other banks debit cards, credit cards, SBI branches, UPI, which with the help of SBI collect application is available in the university official website: www.ksoumysore.karnataka.gov.in. Students can pay the fees online during holidays also.
