CM leaves for Bengaluru after rituals

Homa, Havana, and other religious rituals, organised by the family of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy at Umamaheshwara Temple on the banks of River Tunga at Kammaradi, concluded on Saturday.

Kumaraswamy’s father and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, his wife Chennamma, Public Works Minister H D Revanna, MLC S L Bhoje Gowda and Sringeri MLA T D Raje Gowda were present.

The religious rituals continued till late on Friday night. The chief minister’s family stayed at Talavane.

On Saturday, the rituals were held till 2 pm under the guidance of priest Ganesh Somayaji. The family left for Bengaluru at 3 pm after the rituals.

In the last two days, Ganapathi Homa, Rudra Homa and other Homas were held. It is said that religious rituals were organised for the health of Deve Gowda, a source said.

The police had strengthened security in and around the temple.
