A lone woman was murdered in K Nidugane in Madikeri taluk on Tuesday.
The criminals have stolen the valuables from her house. Lalitha (70) is the murdered woman.
For the past many years, she was living alone in her house. Her son, who is in Mysuru, had kept Rs 50,000 earned from selling coffee beans, at Lalitha’s house.
Apart from cash, gold jewellery has also been stolen.
Superintendent of Police Kshama Mishra and Madikeri DySP Dinesh Kumar conducted a spot inspection.
A case has been registered by Madikeri rural police.
