Four drug peddlers arrested in Mangaluru

The Urwa Police arrested four people engaged in selling ganja near Urwa Marigudi, Mangaluru, on Sunday.

The police have seized 1.50 kg ganja, four mobilephones and cash from the arrested.

The arrested are Mahesh alias Mana (24) from Urwa, Rithesh alias Rithu (20) from Matadakani, Sudarshan M alias Sudha (24) of Urwa Long Lane and Rithesh (21) of Ashok Nagara. A case has been registered under NDPS Act.

One held

The Anti Rowdy Squad personnel arrested a person involved in cattle theft cases in Mangaluru.

According to City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, the arrested is Mohammed Mustafa alias Musta (20), a resident of Malluru in Mangaluru. There are two cattle theft cases against him in Mangaluru rural police station.

Cheating 200 customers

Police attached to the Narcotics and Economics Offenses station have filed a complaint on cheating over 200 customers to the tune of Rs 9 crore by Tiripura Chits Pvt Limited.

The complaint was filed by one Arafath against the Chennai based firm.

The complainant said that the company had offered high interest rate and collected deposits from the public.

Initially, the company was returning the amount on time, but now, the branch in Mangaluru has closed down.

Tiripura Chits Pvt Limited has more than 150 branches across the country. Money was collected from over 200 customers in Mangaluru.

Arafath had a business of over Rs 50 lakh. As he received news of the closure of the Mangaluru branch, he visited the Chennai branch and found that the Chennai branch too is shut.
