Miscreants throw stones at Ganesh pandal in Belagavi

Miscreants threw stones at a Ganesh Utsav pandal in the communally sensitive Bhendi Bazaar area of Belagavi in the early hours of Saturday.

They also threw stones at vehicles parked in the vicinity. Though the police rushed to the spot, the suspects managed to flee. The incident occurred around 2.30 am, the police said.

The CCTV footage shows two people throwing stones at the pandal. The police have deployed additional personnel to thwart any untoward incidents.

MLA Anil Benke and office-bearers of Ganesh Utsav Mandals condemned the incident and sought stern action against the suspects. The Market police have registered a case.
