Last Updated 06 May 2018, 20:42 IST

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh canvassed for Chickpet BJP candidate Uday B Garudachar by taking part in a mega bike rally on Sunday afternoon.

Hundreds of party workers clad in saffron dresses and wearing party hats and holding party flags took out the rally from Basavanagudi to Town Hall, passing through Ramakrishna Ashram and DVG Road.

Singh came in the party vehicle decorated with posters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP party president Amit Shah and chief ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa. Union Minister Ananth Kumar and Uday Garudachar joined Singh for the rally.

At Town Hall, Singh addressed a group of people from the Jain community. “The country's economy is growing rapidly and India will be among the top three economic powers in the world by 2025. This has been possible because we have a leader who has a vision for the growth of the country,” said Singh.

He said Bengaluru had become a garbage city. “I do not like to call it garbage city, but it has become one. However, we should appreciate the IT prowess of the city,” he said.
