Siddaganga seer’s treatment continues in ICU

Last Updated 22 January 2019, 04:56 IST

The treatment being given to Siddaganga mutt seer Shivakumara Swamiji at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre in Chennai, continued on Saturday.

Dr Paramesh who is overseeing the treatment said that Swamiji was being administered IV fluids and antibiotics. “No liquid food is given to him,” he clarified.

As there is a risk of infections, he is still being housed in the ICU.

“Devotees need not worry. Swamiji might get discharged from the hospital in one week and return to the mutt in Tumakuru,” the doctor added.

Former minister V Somanna and retired IAS officer Somashekar visited the seer at the hospital to enquire about his health. Though the entry of devotees is banned, many of them came to the hospital hoping to meet the seer. But none was allowed by hospital security.
