Shivakumara Swami death: Sandalwood to shut for a day

Following the death of Siddaganga seer Shivakumar Swami on Monday, the Kannada film industry has decided to halt all business as a way to pay their respects to him.

On Tuesday, Sandalwood will shut down all functions. Fan associations and film associations will organise condolence meet for the seer.

“The film screening, shooting, post and pre-production works of Sandalwood will be stalled for the day, tomorrow, Tuesday. No film screening or shooting will take place on Tuesday in order to allow all the industry persons to participate in the funeral of the Swamiji. The board members of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and some top personalities of our Kannada film industry will be going to Tumakuru to pay our last respects,” KFFC President Chinne Gowda told DH.

The final rites for the Swamiji will be held on the Siddaganga mutt premises on Tuesday evening.
