Speaker not keen on bio-metric attendance for MLAs

Legislative Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar said he was not keen on introducing the biometric attendance system for MLAs to keep a tab on them during the sessions.

Speaking to reporters here, Kumar said the government and the legislature were two separate entities, and that he did not intend to introduce the system as it would end up being an unnecessary expenditure.

Kumar said he had banned the entry of the public into Legislator’s Home between 8 pm and 9.30 am, to protect the privacy of legislators.
