Kannada Sahitya Sammelana begins on a grand note

It was a colourful start for the 84th edition of the Akhila Bharatha Kannada Sahitya Sammelana on Friday and the Cultural City has spared nothing to make the event a grand success.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and will end on Sunday. Jnanpith awardee and Kendra Sahitya Akademi president Chandrashekhar Kambar is presiding the Sammelana this year.

This time around, the Sammelana will see 24 discussions will take place and will be one of the highlights of the event because this is the highest so far. Thinkers, writers, poets and intellectuals from all over the State are expected to speak on various issues.


Evening programmes will be held at the Rangayana and Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sanghas in the City.

About 250 cultural programmes will be held over the course of the three-day Sammelana.

The Sammelana will also be a treat for the stomach as delicacies from the northern and sourthern parts of Karnataka will be served.
