Tungabhadra dam gets 2 tmc inflow in single day

As the inflow to the Tungabhadra reservoir has increased, the dam has received over two tmc of water in a single day.

On Wednesday, the inflow recorded was 5.31 tmc. However, on Thursday, the water level recorded was 7.75 tmc; thereby adding 28,367 cusecs of water in a single day. The inflow on Wednesday was 6,878 cusecs.

The cause for the copious inflow is that Shimoga's Tunga dam is full and water is being released through the cross gates.

Also, ample rains in the Tungabhadra catchment areas had resulted in an increased the inflow into the Tungabhadra reservoir.
