BJP candidate for Channapatna C P Yogeeshwara said on Monday that he might lose the elections as his opponents had bribed voters using black money and had resorted to strong-arm tactics.

Addressing the media here, he said that the Congress and the JD(S) had joined hands two days before the polling on Saturday, in order to defeat him.

"(Energy Minister) D K Shivakumar's black money was distributed indiscriminately all over the constituency and 20 Congress leaders who were with me were bought over by the opposition," Yogeeshwara said.

"In this election, the DKS brothers (Shivakumar and Suresh) gave H M Revanna (Congress candidate) the task to end my political career. Kumaraswamy made good use of the opportunity," said an emotional Yogeeshwara.

Irrespective of who wins, the victory will be by a small margin. "Even if I lose, I will stay in the BJP and serve the party. In the event of a by-election that may be necessitated when Kumaraswamy vacates one of the seats, if he wins both, I will contest if the party so wishes," Yogeeshwara said.
